A lot of people think corten steel is great because it makes our work timeless, well, timeless.
Like everyone else, we love rust's warm, natural look. Unlike mild steel, when placed in the element, weathering steel forms a protective coating on its surface when exposed to the elements.
The protective layer prevents the steel from rusting. Its surface continues to renew itself every time it encounters inclement weather, forming its own protective coating and our lovely rusty surface.
It's amazing.
