For many Diablo 2 Resurrected players, playing solo may be their only option. However, farming for high-quality loot can be challenging without the increased player counts that come with grouping. Here are some tips to maximize your drop chances and find better gear when playing Diablo 2 solo. The first thing to keep in mind is that monster drop rates are tied to the number of players in the game. Creating a game and playing solo on Players 1 difficulty means monsters will have an extremely low chance to drop anything at all. A better strategy is to join public games instead. Look for games with 2-3 other players to boost the drop rates to Players 3 difficulty. This alone can greatly increase the likelihood of walking away with usable items. When farming solo, focus on locations that can be cleared quickly. Running the entire Chaos Sanctuary may not be efficient compared to clearing areas like Eldritch the Oblivion or Tamoe Highland in a fraction of the time. Speed is key so you can restart new games more often and face more monsters per hour. Other quick areas to consider include Shenk the Overseer, Pindleskin, and The Throne of Destruction in The Pits level 2. Rather than kill all monsters, prioritize only slaying champion and elite packs. Normal monsters are affected by the no Diablo 2 Resurrected item drop penalty, but elites and bosses will always drop at least one item. Snipe these powerful foes and move on, leaving the common mobs. This allows solo MFing in higher level 85 zones without wasting time on monsters unlikely to yield strong rewards. Some specific elite farming routes could include Eldritch/Shenk runs, the three bosses of The Pit, or sniping champion packs in the Chaos Sanctuary. You can also focus solely on quick bosses like Pindleskin that can be fought over and over again by resetting the game. Multiple efficient farming locations can also be chained together for optimal drops per hour. By taking advantage of these solo strategies - joining public games, speed clearing focused zones, and exclusively hunting elites - Diablo 2 players can maximize their drop and loot finding potential even without a full party. With some smart farming tactics, great gear can still be found playing the game solo online. |
